Employee Profile: Walker Erwin

As a home builder in the greater Puget Sound area, we like to make sure all of our customers feel welcome, listened to, and appreciated. We understand that this is a big decision – with lots of additional decisions when it comes to colors, finishes, extra windows, and more – so our team works hard to make this process as smooth as possible. We also like to make it feel like a team effort, since it is, and that’s why we like to introduce you to some of our employees, especially some of the ones you may not deal with directly, but who still play an important role in the building of your new home.

Walker Erwin is someone you may not deal with in particular as a new home buyer, but he’s part of the team that finds the perfect place to build homes. His title is Land Acquisition Manager. As he explains, “I am responsible for identifying and acquiring new development projects.” This means he is out there searching out potential building locations that will offer beauty and convenience.

He has only been with us a short period of time, but comes with previous experience with other companies, so I guess you could say, he knows what he’s doing. As for a typical day, he explains that he’s usually, “following up with sellers, drafting contracts, and running proformas.” Plus, as a land acquisition manager, he’s out exploring the region. All of that traveling isn’t a problem, though, “I love being able to get out of the office and meet new people.”

As well as being new to Garrette Custom Homes, Walker is also relatively new to the PNW, having moved here from Nebraska, where he grew up in a small town outside Omaha. But with his favorite hobbies involving hiking, biking, kayaking, and the outdoors in general, he’s certainly moved to the right place! He’s also a dog lover. “An interesting fact people don’t know about me is that I have two dogs with 62,000 followers on TikTok.” Walker himself is #teamtaco in the taco vs pizza showdown, though we suspect his dog are #teamboth!
